The next morning we arrived in Tromso, a lovely coastal city. Our arrival was amazing. LauraLea and I watched the arrival from the top deck. Deck Eighteen, generally known as the Skywalkers deck. We momentarily forgot the theft of Majestic Norway as we watched the mighty tugboat guide our gigantic ship into port. The sun was out and glittered like diamonds on the waters of the fjord. The early days of our voyage had been overcast and snowy, so seeing the sun was a treat. It was nice to have a respite from dismay and depression about the theft of our paintings.
Tromso is located within the Arctic Circle and is the largest city in northern Norway. The landscape is ruggedly beautiful and perfectly polar landscaped. Tromso was settled at the end of the Ice Age. LauraLea and I had planned a tour of the Arctic Cathedral and I couldn't wait to get to the polar Arctic Center Aquarium. Tomorrow, before we left, we planned to visit the Arctic Center and walk along the "Arctic Walkway." I really wanted to see bearded seals and a couple of polar bears. The Arctic Cathedral was an excellent symbol of Norwegian faith and culture. It was modern and made of arched glass triangles, steel and concrete with a lovely stained-glass window.
LauraLea interrupted my thoughts. "Let's hurry and grab some breakfast. Our tour leaves at ten and I'm hoping to hear from your FBI friend."
I nodded as I continued to watch the pristine scene below me. The ship was almost into port. I could see the wharf area and a few shops. "If he hasn't left me a message, I'll call him back. In the meantime let's grab a cup of coffee."
LauraLea and I walked down two flights of stairs to the Lido deck where we grabbed the table in the back of the dining room along with 2 cups of coffee and a couple of Danish. The pastry was delicious. Iâd had much more pastry and scones than I needed. I was gonna have to really work on my treadmill at home. I made a mental note to try and work in some exercise while we were onboard. The last couple of days had limited my walking because of my toe that was still quite painful. "Oh, here comes the captain and his chief of security, one of our favorite people. I wonder what they want?"
LauraLea rolled her eyes. âI really don't want to see that sarcastic disrespectful Akeem. He obviously thinks weâre idiots." A fierce, angry look crossed her face. âIâm not putting up with any of his crap this morning.â
I reached out and touched her hand. "Now, promise me you'll behave yourself. I agree he's a sarcastic pain in the butt, but we do need all the help we can get to find Majestic Norway.â I paused. âBesides, we think heâs an idiot too, correct?â
LauraLea gritted her teeth for moment. Her lips were tight and she had a sour expression on her face.
